Glen from COMPRO Kitchens and Bath had a fabulous idea to install a kitchen island and that made a huge difference in our kitchen. He was the only contractor we dealt with that had this idea and it meant the world of difference. It would transform our kitchen from an outdated humdrum kitchen to a masterpiece of a kitchen. Glen’s ideas kept flowing and kept making more sense which helped turn our kitchen into our new dream space. From pot lighting vs pendant lighting to pull out vs shelving, Glen had the answers.
However, things did not always go totally as planned and a month into the Reno things turned from great into high stress. The cupboard manufacture sent all the doors and drawer fronts in the wrong colour! The panels, doors, special cabinets and drawers looked absolutely horrid. In fact, not only was the colour wrong, but they even used the wrong staining technique. Everything was had a washed out look, not rich and vibrant but blotchy and messy. No where what we had expected, wanted nor ordered. Thank god, Glen stepped up and contacted the manufacture. At Glen’s insistence they redid all the doors, drawer fronts and panels. The only downfall, a long Reno would get even longer and that it would add even more time to the project that originally started in October and this was now one week before CHRISTMAS!
Had it not been for Glen’s ingenuity we wouldn’t have had anything in the kitchen to cook on or clean our dishes in from one week before Christmas until late February. Glen managed to hook us up to a small loaner sink and wooden countertop on the island, until our drawer fronts, doors and panels were completed. Good thing too, the contractor took their sweet time with the new doors which didn’t arrive until the beginning of March! So much for being a priority job! But what a difference, night and day from what they originally supplied the first time to the doors and drawer fronts this time.
The sub-contractors Glen supplied were all top notch, hard working, knowledgeable and friendly. From flooring to electrical to countertops, they were all high experienced and surpassed our high expectations.
After what turned into months of construction woes and inconvenience, we now have a kitchen that we can be proud of. Glen’s ideas transformed our kitchen into the most beautiful place in the house.
Everyone will always experience some hassles and troubles in any home renovations. Glen’s attitude and skills helped turned a very messy and troublesome situation into as pleasant of an experience as possible. We love our new kitchen and it’s all thanks to Glen!
